The majority of my works take place in the fantasy world of Ardidergia. Those that do not, The Land of Aka for instance, tend to have a more simplified world building.
So what is Adidergia?
In the simplest terms, it’s a sandbox. A fantasy world with all the typical things, dragons and magic, tyrannical rulers and brave heroes, ancient evils and primordial gods. However, due to its nature as a “sandbox” it has the potential for any particular concept I feel like exploring.
More complex terms?
Ardidergia is a large continent situated within the tumultuous Outer Seas. A Pangaea of sorts, its far north and south ends are situated in frigid polar regions, while the space between them has everything from arid deserts to tropical rain forests. It even sports more fantastical regions like the grey woods of Griffis or the floating isles of Mirilit.
So that establishes the landscapes, but what else?
The modern history of Ardidergia can broadly be classified into two eras, Pre-Scorching and Post-Scorching, with the Scorching being an apocalyptic event that rocked the world to its very foundations. Initially the idea behind The Overlord Saga was to introduce the Pre-Scorching world and tell the tale of how the Scorching came about. However, in the years since publishing the first book of TOS, I’ve come to question if this was truly the best decision as a grand introduction to the world of Ardidiergia. In light of this, I’ve decided that with this fresh start I should introduce the world, instead, from a Post-Scorching perspective.
